The Truth behind SEO Myths

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

SEO is considered to be one of the most reliable and oldest methods to drive
traffic to your site. Due to your site properly targeting its audience,
visitors will come to your website and take action. And the best part is
that it doesn’t cost you a penny to get this traffic. There are many who
haven’t yet caught up to what it means to get a good ranking for your site
in the SERPs. The field of search engine optimization has expanded so much
that it is now full of fables that make it difficult for many to understand
the true dynamics of the search engines. A good knowledge of SEO and its
components, as well as how these components work together, are vital if you
want to use the search engines in your favor. This article will dispel some
of those fallacies and you need to be aware of them before you begin working
with it.

Let’s start with the idea that you have to optimize long tail keywords
in order to have them rank well. Many articles, courses and forum posts
have repeated this myth over the years. In reality, long tail keywords
are, by definition, not competitive, because there is not much search
volume for them, so you don’t have to optimize them. That’s why it’s
simple to rank for long tail keywords. You can simply add these keywords
in your content somewhere and you’ll rank for them, which isn’t
optimization. That’s all there is to it. There is no need to do any
fancy optimization for long tail keywords, which is a good reason to use
them.

The words in your Meta tag do not need to be used on that particular
page. While this is a myth, it is still widely believed and taught by
SEO professionals. These keyword tags are meant to be used to find words
that don’t already appear on the page. The main point, however, is that
neither Google nor Yahoo use these tags for ranking.

How much you need on your site is another SEO myth. The myth generally
states that you need a minimum of 250 words on your site. But there is
no real optimal number that you should use as far as your content goes.
Wanting to optimize as many as 3 to 5 keywords was the source of this
myth. But that doesn’t mean having a shorter copy doesn’t work well.

A short copy can be used as effectively as a longer version. Search
engines are needed to help drive traffic to your site but that site
needs to geared towards your niche not just the search engines. Any
amount of content is good – use your common sense to make it the optimal
size.

Search engine optimization is something that will take you some time to
get good at. There are some good forums, newsletters and membership
sites that can help you if you find yourself stuck on some point
regarding SEO. Don’t worry if you make mistakes, the point is to learn
and improve your skills so you can get the search engines to cooperate
with you.

AdSense Mistakes You Must Forego

Sunday, June 13th, 2010

If you do it smart, you may make a living from the income you will accrue with Google Adsense. It will take a little time and effort to figure out a nice formula for what will generate revenue, but once you get it straight, you will be off and running. The crux to using AdSense and accruing great money when doing so will be selecting the proper keywords that will allow you to bring in the traffic you need. If you are able to enhance your roster of keywords, you might be able to tune in your AdSense campaign to any level you want. However, there are a few all too normal mistakes that webmasters make when using AdSense and some of these can be taken quite seriously by Google. Many people have been banned by Google, but are not sure what it is they did wrong. On the other hand, if you do a great job with your plans you should be able to avoid these mistakes. This article shall examine the mistakes that you need to avoid in order to have success with AdSense.

To begin, skip overindulgence with the glut of advertisement units on your site, as this could ultimately hurt you. There are several webmasters who believe that more ad units means more helpful luck, but this is not the case. You are going to turn people off from your site by doing this, not to mention ending up with ads that aren’t going to provide you much per click. What you have to do when you get started with AdSense is to be strategic about placing your ads, only choosing the ads that will pay the most per click. Quality and quantity are both important in this occasion – possessing quality content with relevant keywords is vital to your site’s success, but it is also important that your site has enough quality content. Many people think that they are accomplishing all of the basic things that should guarantee success, but then are confused when the ads served on their site are not successful. The largest underlying factor here may be a typical lack of content, and if you do not have enough quality content on your site you will not get the ads you need. Also, due to the fact that possessing sufficient content is a priority for search engines, if your content is lacking, your search engine traffic will be weak.

Don’t attempt to hide your advertisement themes. AdSense has the capability to change the colors and borders of your ad to assist you in matching the ads into the theme of your site and its design. Though, prevent going so far as to make the URL be matched to the background color. Though blending an ad is a prudent move, why would someone need to conceal such crucial advertisement elements? What’s more, Google doesn’t permit it. Guarantee that you don’t block the visibility of the ad with images or tables obscuring them. You at all times want the ad to be visible for the viewers in order to boost the likelihood that they use it. In the end, it will be paramount for you to do what is best for the campaign in order to succeed via AdSense. When you are working as an Adsense publisher, you want to give out content that is high quality to Google, but you should consider the niche you want to sell in and also the place where you are listing ads. After you have learned the basics of how the system works, you will be able to continually make high quality sites that keep your bottom line improving day to day.

Use These SEO Copywriting Tips and Get Results

SEO Copywriting is one of the most widely used marketing tools today, even

right keywords, in the right places. The better you are at this, the higher your
site will be ranked by Google and the other search engines.

to the external hyperlinks, when you incorporate links to any external resource,
it will help in two different ways. First, they give a certain validation from a
third party of your expertise and secondly you have the opportunity to connect
to their affiliate program of that resource or opt for reciprocal linking.
Whether it’s internal linking or external, as long as it goes with your content
and is in sync with it, the search engines will always reward you.

Link Building is Very Powerful When Done Right

Link Building is Very Powerful When Done Right

Anyone that does extensive link building knows that it takes a lot of work.
Link building is known to be the most time-consuming task when it comes to
search engine optimization. Wasting time using the wrong methods is very easy
when there is so much misinformation floating around forums and blogs. Your only
job is to place backlinks on sites that will be counted. When building a link
building plan be sure to get your research from experts and reputable sources
because it is very easy to base your entire plan around information that does
not work and can even get your site penalized. Avoiding common mistakes is easy
when you know what to look out for.

Linking to your home page and none of your other pages is a common mistake. It
seems logical, but what you are doing is making your home page rank higher while
the rest stay the same. It is very important that you create each page with its
own group of keywords. You need to build links to the other pages of your site
to rank for more keywords. Also, if you are trying to get targeted visitors then
backlinking to pages so they can find your targeted information more easily will
produce better result than just making your home page easily found. Last but not
the least, it turns out to be easier to get a backlink to various other pages.
You can contact other webmasters and offer that they backlink to a relevant page
on your site that contains a piece of content that their members might find
useful. Your main page doesn’t really contain any specific content so it is
impractical for someone to give you a backlink to it.

It also does not pay to link to sites that have a poor reputation, you should
avoid these sites like plague.

When you’re linking to these sites, technically you’re telling Google that you
recommend them, which results in a penalty coming your way. A simple peek at the
sites that a link leads to can save you from being wrongly identified as being
associated with a site that has a bad reputation.

When your site becomes more popular and gets higher rankings in the search
engines; you will be made offers to place links on your site: if the site is
ethical and reputable then go ahead but if they are unethical then don’t take
the offer under any circumstances.

Don’t make the mistake of hurrying up with your link building, because you might
miss on the important details such as focusing on the anchor text.

Don’t go get an image link when you know you can get a text link with anchor
text. Yes an image link might be able to get you high traffic since it’s an
image after all but when you look at it from the SEO perspective, the best
option would be your keyword in the anchor text. These methods are proven to
work so if you take the time to learn them you will be ahead of 90% of the
competition. Keep it ethical and only deal with quality and relevant links.

Facts About Facebook Ad Power | Socrates Wp Theme

Facts About Facebook Ad Power | Socrates Wp Theme

Facebook Ad Power is a course that was created by Ryan Deiss, a well known
entrepreneur. Ryan Deiss noticed that many internet marketers were having
problems with Google Adwords but did not know of any other way to advertise
online
, so he created Facebook Ad Power, a system to profit from the popularity
of social networking sites. The appealing thing about Facebook is that it’s one
of the most highly trafficked sites on the internet, with millions of potential
buyers, yet its advertising network is still relatively new and untaped. This
product is relatively new so figuring out whether or not is a worthwhile
investment can be tough. As with many internet marketing products, most of the
reviews you will see for this product contain affiliate links. So we wanted to
discover for ourselves if this course had real value or was mere hype.

If you order Facebook Ad Power, be ready to spend some time studying it. This
program sets out to show you in great detail how Facebook works and how you can
leverage its advertising network for profit. The program does this through a
series of video tutorials. The videos can be lengthy but there are not a lot of
them and they are very thorough. You are given the essential facts about using
this system in the initial video, which runs for almost an hour and a half. You
may need a pen and notebook while you’re watching, as one tester actually took
twelve pages of notes while watching the first video in the series. These videos
are dense with information! Your landing page is an important factor to
consider. Facebook does not only look at your ads, but also at your landing
pages, so these also need to be approved if you want your ads to run. Facebook
Ad Power will explain to you how to create landing pages that Facebook likes. If
you want to know what to include in your landing page, and what to avoid, this
course will provide you with a good explanation. So this course will show you
how to create both ads and landing pages that Facebook will be glad to accept!

Most internet marketing products are sold through
networks like Clickbank; this
one, on the other hand, is being sold directly by the creator, Ryan Deiss.

As this is a little unusual, it made us wonder at first. When we purchase
courses and products, we usually stick to vendors we know we can trust. Since
this program does have a fairly high price tag, we couldn’t understand why the
owner wouldn’t part with the relatively small fee of using Clickbank to sell it.
The value of what this course contained, however, made all these concerns
vanish. Suddenly Clickbank’s presence was not a factor anymore. Ryan Deiss
proved to our satisfaction that he keeps his word. He did not run away with our
money so we don’t imagine that yours will disappear either.

How do you decide on what internet marketing programs to invest in, with so many
out there? All of these programs can take up a lot of your time, as well as
money. Facebook Ad Power is one course that is truly a good value. The money you
will make in your ad campaigns will make up the cost in no time and the ideas
you get from taking the course can be used on just about any product that you
want to sell!
